SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £90–£110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025

GSL Education are currently seeking committed and caring SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a variety of mainstream and specialist schools in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in Special Educational Needs to support children with a range of learning, behavioural, and developmental needs.
About the Role:
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) TA, you will work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to support students who have additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges. You will be responsible for ensuring pupils can engage with the curriculum and feel included, valued, and supported in their learning environment.
What you have to do as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN
* Assist in delivering tailored learning activities according to EHCPs and IEPs
* Adapt resources and teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs
* Encourage positive behaviour and manage behavioural challenges effectively
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents/carers
* Support social and emotional development alongside academic achievement
* Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
* Promote inclusivity and independence in the school environment
* Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive and safe learning atmosphere
* Attend relevant training and participate in school development initiatives
SEN Teaching Assistant Qualifications:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar
* A degree in Psychology, SEND, Counselling or a similar field.
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent (desirable)
* A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
