Senior Commercial Manager - Bridgwater, UKAbout the Role Hinkley Point C (HPC), Bristol or Bridgwater – at least 3 days in the officeAre you ready to take the commercial lead on some of the UK’s most exciting infrastructure contracts? At EDF, we’re looking for several Senior Commercial Managers to help shape the future of low-carbon energy by driving commercial success at Hinkley Point C. The OpportunityThe Senior Commercial Manager is commercially responsible, on each assigned contract, for supporting procurement activities during contract creation (pre-award) to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and successful contract award. However, the primary focus of the role lies in the post-award phase — commercially leading and managing contracts through execution to close-out. This includes driving contract performance, managing changes and claims, mitigating commercial risks, ensuring supplier compliance, and maximising value and cost efficiency. The aim is to safeguard the commercial integrity of the contract while contributing to the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of the NNB programme and its broader business objectives.In this role, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious energy projects. You’ll take ownership of the commercial delivery of critical contracts from award through execution to final close-out, ensuring performance, compliance, and long-term value. By working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll help enable a successful nuclear programme that delivers on safety, efficiency, and commercial excellence. What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll oversee the full commercial lifecycle of contracts, with a strong focus on the execution and delivery phase. While supporting early-stage activities such as defining requirements, evaluating tenders, and negotiating terms, your primary responsibility will be ensuring that live contracts are effectively managed to deliver value, manage risk, and support successful project outcomes.Once contracts are awarded, you’ll take the lead in managing supplier relationships, administering payments, assessing and negotiating variations and claims, and proactively identifying and mitigating commercial risks. You’ll drive commercial performance by leading regular contract reviews, monitoring supplier progress, resolving issues, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.As the key commercial contact, you’ll collaborate closely with project teams, legal, finance, and procurement to ensure contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Your commercial leadership will be critical to the successful execution of the HPC project and to securing the long-term success of the UK’s low-carbon energy future. Who You AreYou bring strong commercial and contract management experience, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects. You’re confident navigating complex contracts and making sound decisions that deliver value and reduce risk.You’re a skilled communicator and negotiator, able to build trusted relationships with suppliers and internal teams alike. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities make you a reliable and proactive team player.Familiarity with industry-standard contract forms and a solid understanding of performance measurement, risk, and change management will set you up for success.
