Female Personal Assistant - Private Employer. This job is advertised on behalf of an individual person, and they will be the employer.
The hours are flexible as care is provided at various times of the day, seven days a week in family home in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.
1 x Part Time, Female, non-smoker (due to sensory needs) Personal Assistant with a clean driving licence required to assist a female in her early 20's.
Position - Part time permanent position of 10 hours per week (subject to 6 month probationary period)
Rate of Pay - £12.00 per hour
Please note this salary will be subject to an increase in the National Living Wage
Experience in social care preferred - 1+ years or willing to learn
The role involves caring for a female who has spinal bifida and hydrocephalus and is a wheelchair user who enjoys socialising and going to the cinema while introducing new activities.
Confident and competent driver for social outings and hospital appointments.
Willingness to go the extra mile and assist female in leading an independent life.
Experience of supporting young adults with physical disabilities is desirable but not essential.
Employer is looking to employ a personal assistant to support various days per week which will vary between mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Applicants expected to be good timekeeper and flexible regarding hours of work and to be able to work extra hours as and when required.

Duties and tasks to be undertaken:
The assistance you provide will vary but will largely involve:
To provide full support with all personal care requirements for example: support with washing, showering, bathing, dressing, catheter care, assisting with bowel management, ensuring appropriate levels of hygiene and any other reasonable requirements in a friendly, supportive, light-hearted and patient way.
Assisting with meal preparation to develop cooking skills and balanced diet and cleaning area afterwards and light household duties.
To accompany and provide support enabling employer to get the most out of all social activities both inside and outside the house.
Assisting to use local community resources, such as the gym, cinema, and shopping locally.
Help to maintain relationships with friends and family by assisting with social outings to develop travelling skills and ensuring employer is always safe.
To administer medication at the correct times and to log this on medication sheets if required.
Support employer to attend any appointments such as the GP, chemists, hospital, hairdressers, beauty salons and dentist as and when required.
