The Role
SSEN Transmission seeks a Cable Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team, helping develop and deliver projects aligned with our Net Zero targets.
You Will
* Support cable engineering across projects, including design review, technology assessment, routing, and current rating calculations using CYMCAP software.
* Assist throughout the project lifecycle: design, risk assessments (HAZIDs, HAZCONs, HAZOPs), construction, commissioning, and completion. Collaborate to identify and mitigate risks and conduct peer reviews.
* Develop technical scopes and specifications for underground cable projects and modifications.
* Review prequalification and type testing reports, verify designs, and witness factory and site acceptance testing.
* Promote safety by implementing CDM procedures, ensuring compliance with company, HSE, and industry standards.
You Have
* A relevant engineering degree, ideally Chartered or working towards it.
* Experience in transmission development, design, and specification, with the ability to assess technical issues and solutions.
* Knowledge of High Voltage Cables and transmission network regulations, including legal and safety standards.
* Understanding of relevant legislation like CDM & ESQCR and their implications for asset and project management.
* Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
