Vision for Education are recruiting for a committed and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEN school in Coventry from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support young learners with a wide range of additional needs in a nurturing, structured and engaging environment. The school caters for pupils with varying levels of ability, offering a dynamic and hands-on role where no two days are the same.
About the School Setting
The school supports primary-aged pupils with a range of needs, including:
• Autism (ASC), including non-verbal students
• Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH)
• Challenging behaviours
• Physical disabilities (in some classes)
Students present with a wide spectrum of needs. Some require high levels of support with communication and behaviour, while others are more independent, active and physically energetic.
The role can be physically demanding depending on the class, and requires staff who are proactive, resilient and ready to fully engage with students throughout the day.
The Role
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
• Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
• Support communication, including working with non-verbal students
• Help deliver engaging and structured learning activities
• Provide personal care where required
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils
• Support students during transitions, break times and physical activities
This is a varied and active role that requires flexibility, energy and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
