What you’ll be doing

1. Taking design ownership of a complex tooling, network management, and service management platform.
2. Overseeing our cloud-first journey for future government contracts.
3. Providing detailed costings to support new business opportunities.
4. Working closely with in-life operations to ensure service levels are consistently met.
5. Maintaining a clear roadmap for obsolescence, software versioning, and licensing.
6. Managing a multi-disciplined team covering database, networks, security, virtualisation, and cloud technologies.
7. Collaborating with security teams to ensure platform health and prepare for annual certifications.
8. Driving security and compliance, including risk management and thorough testing.
9. Leading documentation, training, and knowledge sharing to empower your team and end-users.
10. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and smooth operations.

The skills and experience you’ll need to succeed

Essential

11. A proven background in managing secure platforms within UK government or regulated environments.
12. Familiarity with IT security best practices, data protection, and incident management tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow).
13. Experience working in certified environments and understanding government security regulations.
14. Proven people management and leadership background.

15. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
16. Demonstrated experience solving complex problems and making sound decisions under pressure.
