We have an opportunity for a Band 6 role for an individual with significant experience in the lung cancer environment.
The post holder will have significant experience in supporting and coordinating the patient pathway through the complexities of a lung cancer pathway.
Main duties of the job
As a Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), the post holder is responsible for providing appropriate specialist advice, support and education to patients diagnosed with a lung malignancy with support from the senior Lung Cancer CNS.
They will work autonomously alongside the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialists to deliver high quality care to those with a lung cancer; their families / significant others and will provide guidance, supervision and training to peers and junior members of staff both internal and external to the Trust, promoting seamless service within a multi-professional framework.
The post holder will implement programmes of holistic care at all stages of the patient’s pathway including pre-diagnostic surgical support and advice, holistic needs assessments, review patients on active non-surgical treatment as part of their clinical pathway, follow-up and LWBC as required.
They will support the Trust cancer nursing model to provide delivery of care for cancer patients throughout the whole patient pathway.

* Evidence of recent CPD
