We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Graduate Ecologist to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This hybrid role typically involves at least 3 days in the office or on-site, providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience in ecological consultancy.
What does the role involve?
1. Conduct ecological surveys, including habitat assessments and surveys for legally protected species.
2. Assist with report writing and liaise with clients, contractors, and the public to support land use and ecology points for BREEM assessments.
3. Produce habitat and survey plans and undertake Ecological Clerk of Works duties.
What do you need?
Hold a degree in Ecology or a related subject. The role is suitable for recent graduates or those with some experience. The position can be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with travel to sites and offices required, so a full driver’s license is necessary.
Work outside usual hours may be required, such as night surveys for bats or early morning/evening site visits for reptiles and mitigation activities.
