Company Description
The
Animal Health Professions' Register (AHPR)
is a voluntary, independent regulator, that provides a form of assurance to veterinary surgeons and animal owners when selecting professionals to treat their animals. Our register includes qualified veterinary physiotherapists, veterinary chiropractors, and animal sports massage therapists who have completed nationally-regulated qualifications, hold insurance, and follow our code of conduct.
Launched in 2018, AHPR was established in response to the
Review of Minor Procedures Regime (RMPR)
to bring clarity and consistency to the regulation of animal health professionals. We uphold excellence in education through accreditation of qualifications, continuing professional development, and evidence-based practice.
As the veterinary sector evolves, AHPR supports legislative reform and is involved in discussion around
modernising the Veterinary Surgeons Act
to reflect current practices. Working closely with
Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and Defra
, we advocate for clearer regulations and greater transparency, aiming to ensure
Allied Veterinary Professionals
are recognised, regulated, and maintain high industry standards in any new legislation or regulatory models.
By enforcing rigorous standards, we safeguard the integrity of animal healthcare, ensuring animal welfare remains a top priority, both now and in the future.
