Financial Controller Woking
Location: Woking Onsite (surrounding Surrey areas – including Guildford, Farnborough, and Camberley)
Rate: £35 per hour
Type: Self-Employed / Part-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Financial Controller to join our network on a self-employed basis. This role involves supporting a range of SME clients across Surrey, providing hands-on financial leadership and strategic insight.
You will work closely with business owners and senior stakeholders, delivering high-quality financial control, reporting, and commercial guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage all aspects of financial control for multiple clients
* Prepare and present monthly management accounts and financial reports
* Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Provide strategic financial advice to support business growth
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and financial regulations
* Improve financial processes, systems, and controls
* Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders as required
About You
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen
* Comfortable working across multiple businesses and industries
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
* Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred or 5 years QBE
