Overview
This is a technical leadership role within the Environment Agency’s Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) Programme. The Land Access Database Technical Lead will provide oversight for all aspects of landowner access for the monitoring networks within the programme, maintain landowner data in compliance with Environment Agency and legal requirements, and collaborate with operations to ensure delivery aligns with programme goals and timelines.
The role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and governing a key dataset while contributing to a culture of learning, adaptation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible access arrangements for monitoring networks.
* Maintain landowner datasets and perform spatial analysis for NCEA networks using GIS tools.
* Provide expert technical leadership through training, guidance, and optimisation of data management processes.
* Work independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot challenges in access and programme delivery.
* Be adaptable and proactive, responding effectively to evolving priorities.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience with geospatial data and interacting with internal and external customers.
* Strong data management and GIS skills, maintaining landowner datasets and performing spatial analysis for NCEA networks.
* Ability to drive data governance and contribute to a data-led decision making culture.
* Capability to work with a range of colleagues and partners across projects and programmes.
Contract and Location
* Length of contract: Up to 2 years.
* National role with flexible working location; EA office base locations; some travel and overnight stays required.
