Project Controls Manager – Mott MacDonald
Overview
Join our growing team of Project Controls professionals to deliver purpose‑driven PMO and controls services across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and built‑environment projects – including major global programmes. This role is based in multiple UK locations and offers a permanent, full‑time commitment.
About the Business Unit
Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers project, programme and commercial management services across construction, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors. APD supports projects up to £20bn in scale.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and critically evaluate performance measures (including earned value) and trends across multiple datasets.
* Focus on key issues, driving mitigating or recovery actions across projects.
* Manage people and facilitate tasks within the team.
* Implement robust project controls processes and toolsets in relevant industries.
Qualifications & Experience
* Background on large‑scale infrastructure projects (water, transport, nuclear, defence).
* Degree level education or a project controls/management qualification (e.g., APMG Planning and Controls, EVM, PMQ, Prince2).
* Proficiency with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project and other planning/ resourcing software.
* Ability to create and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements.
* Experience in risk management and reporting (including ARM).
* Strong stakeholder management experience.
* Flexibility to travel and work across sectors and clients.
* Security clearance may be required.
Additional Preferred Skills
* Support project managers with change management processes.
* Monitor and consolidate project plans.
* PMO experience.
* PowerBI knowledge.
