I am currently working on behalf of a leading private housebuilder with a long-standing reputation for quality and excellence across the Central Belt of Scotland. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of residential developments, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS looking to step into a role with genuine career progression, strong commercial support, and involvement in exciting residential projects from pre-construction through to final account.
The Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of assigned housing developments. You’ll work closely with site and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and managing budgets, cost plans, and procurement schedules
* Subcontractor procurement and contract administration
* Managing variations, valuations, and payments
* Cost reporting and forecasting to ensure financial control of projects
* Supporting the Senior QS/Commercial Manager with strategic commercial decisions
* Maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
What You’ll Need:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding sector (private or social housing)
* Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying (preferred)
* Full UK driving licence
