Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment.
* Use containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to ensure scalability and optimise resource allocation.
* Collaborate with IT & Service teams to configure, maintain, and monitor infrastructure for DevOps capabilities.
* Develop scripts and automation to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks.
* Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions to track performance and reliability.
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth integration of DevOps tooling and processes.
* Conduct peer reviews of DevOps deliverables to maintain quality standards.
Qualifications & Eligibility
To Be Eligible For This Position You Must:
* Hold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or have equivalent professional experience.
* Be a British citizen.
* Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) – DV level clearance.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience implementing CI/CD best practices using GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI or Jenkins.
* Hands‑on experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
* Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
* Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, on‑prem).
* Working knowledge of networking concepts including VPCs, firewalls, and domain separation.
* Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Elastic, Prometheus or Splunk.
* Ability to produce and review clear, structured technical documentation.
* Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Desirable
* Experience developing microservices in Rust or Go.
* Familiarity with serverless or cloud function technologies.
* Understanding of software supply chain security, including artefact management and vulnerability scanning.
* Knowledge of SaaS and PaaS architectures.
* Experience in government or defence environments.
