Job Description
Ellis Atkins LLP are looking for a fully qualified ACCA or ACA Accounts Senior with 3-5 years+ post qualification experience in General Practice Accountancy to join our experienced team in a growing two partner firm of Chartered Accountants based in Dorking, Surrey.
We have a varied client base across different industries. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in different areas of this general practice, including accounts preparation (mainly for SMEs), corporate tax, personal taxation, audit work for large clients, and supervising outsourced functions.
We are really looking for someone to join our team who is able to "hit the ground running". We are a busy practice going through a period of growth and we are looking for someone experienced, and who can settle in quickly after a supportive induction into our ways of working.
Role and duties
* Preparation of company accounts
* Corporation tax returns
* VAT Returns and Management Accounts
* Personal Tax Returns
* Audit work on a mixed portfolio of clients
* Payroll
* P11Ds
* Tax planning
* Depending on experience level, work can be assigned or you can supervise your own portfolio of clients
* Direct client contact encouraged
* Exposure to all aspects of client work
* Wide variety of clients and work
* Supervision of outsourced functions
* Opportunity to assist with training and supervision of apprentices/trainees
Requirements
* Essential: ACA or ACCA qualified
* Essential: 3-5 years+ Post qualification experience in a general practice environment
* Essential: Experience of managing or supervising junior members of the team.
* Audit experience is beneficial but not essential
* Experience of charity accounts, GP accounts and trusts would be beneficial but not essential
* Strong IT skills and the ability to work in 'less paper’ environment
* Experience of cloud based bookkeeping systems - Sage, Quickbooks, Xero
* Tax Calc experience preferred but not essential
* Living within a commutable distance to Dorking
Remuneration & Benefits
* £40,000-£50,000 depending on experience
* 20 days holiday in your first year rising to 25 days in the second year plus bank holidays
* Normal working hours are 9:00-5:30 Monday to Friday but we operate around core hours of 8:00-6:00. We are happy to talk flexible working. Our team operate with a combination of working in the office and at home.
* Full time hours are preferred but we will consider applications for part time and school hours. We can be flexible around school holidays.
