An opportunity has arisen within the Planned Care Division for a Medical Secretary in the Vascular department at Wirral University Teaching Hospital. The role involves providing secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and the wider team.
Excellent communication, organizational, and accuracy skills are essential. The post requires managing consultant diaries and clinical activities to ensure smooth service delivery.
About SMART Vascular Unit - The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (COCH) is the hub for the South Mersey Arterial Network (SMART), with Warrington & Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WHH) and Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WUTH) as spoke sites. The clinical model centralizes inpatient vascular and endovascular services at COCH, with outpatient services, daycase surgery, and interventional radiology provided at the spoke sites.
Main duties of the job
* Provide comprehensive secretarial support to Consultants and the vascular team.
* Arrange patient admissions and appointments, liaising with patients, GPs, hospital coordinators, and other departments, ensuring all documentation is prepared and up-to-date.
* Transcribe digital dictation accurately, review with the author, and ensure proper signing before distribution.
