About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within aseptic services at Salford Royal Hospital, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. The aseptic unit is licensed and provides a comprehensive service, including chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme products, parenteral nutrition and support for clinical trials such as Phase 1 and gene therapy studies.
Responsibilities
* Act as the authorised pharmacist for the aseptic unit, overseeing day‑to‑day operations, product release and quality assurance.
* Supervise other pharmacists in the department.
* Manage the initial training and reaccreditation of pharmacists working in the aseptic service.
* Serve as the releasing officer on the MS Licence.
* Work as part of the Quality Assurance team:
o Manage and maintain aspects of the quality management system.
o Maintain controlled documents such as procedures, worksheets and batch production records.
o Participate in departmental audits, developing and implementing action plans in response to findings.
o Investigate deviations, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
o Participate in departmental meetings, including quality meetings and product quality reviews.
Qualifications
* Registerd with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a practising pharmacist.
* Post‑graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance, or equivalent documented aseptic experience.
