Job Overview
We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team to assist with kitchen cleanliness and preparations for meal times. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that food preparation and cooking processes run smoothly. Duties
* Assist with meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as required
* Support the cooking team in the preparation of dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste
* Ensure all food safety regulations are followed, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
* Help with serving meals to customers or clients during catering events or dining service
* Participate in stock management, including inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed
Skills
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
* Basic cooking skills with an eagerness to learn more about culinary techniques
* Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation
* Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities within a busy kitchen setting
