Gateshead Council Careers Team want to recruit an experienced professional to provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance for a caseload of targeted young people to support their progression into and retention in employment, education and training.

About the rolee...
With experience of working with targeted groups aged 15-18, you will have experience of working with vulnerable groups, NEET, care experienced and those with special education needs and disabilities (SEND). You will have experience of providing careers guidance in one-to-one settings or group workshops to support clients realise their career aspirations. You will possess a level 6 qualification in careers information advice and guidance. It is essential you hold in depth knowledge of education, employment, labour market information, training and personal development opportunities that are available for young people within the Northeast region.

We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.

You’ll be paid a competitive salary £36,363 to £39,152 per annum.
We’ll help you save for your future with an outstanding employer contribution to your pension.
You will receive an annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per year (pro-rata for part time employees) rising to 32, 2 of which may be fixed by the council at any time. You also have the chance to buy up to 10 additional holidays per year.
You’ll have the opportunity to participate in the Council’s Flexi time scheme, subject to management approval and business needs, which could be up to 26 flexi days per year.
