Where will you be working?
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Quantity Surveyor with estimating experience to jump into some great projects across various DNO frameworks. This is a hybrid role, with three days working from home and two days in the office or on site. Site visits will typically be across the Midlands and Wales, focusing on civils and electrical works for substation builds.
What You’ll Be Doing?
Putting together and managing budgets, cost plans, and cash flows
Analysing costs and carrying out risk assessments
Helping out with procurement, tendering, and picking the right subcontractors
Creating BOQs, estimates, and valuations
Pricing up new work awarded under framework agreements, with support from an experienced estimating team
Keeping an eye on spend and finding smart ways to save
Working closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to sort out any commercial issues
Handling variations, claims, and final accounts with confidence
Reporting clearly and regularly to senior management
Making sure everything’s above board with contracts, policies, and regulations
Supporting the ops team to keep things on budget and on trackWhat You’ll Bring
A degree in Quantity Surveying (or something similar), or some solid experience in a similar role
Experience with NEC3/4 and other standard contracts (JCT, FIDIC)
Strong Excel skills (and if you know Oracle, even better)
Great communication and negotiation skills
A good eye for detail and a head for numbers
The ability to work solo or as part of a team
