About The Role Lead software development efforts: Design, build, and deliver complex software solutions using Python, Django, and React, ensuring scalability, reliability, and quality. Drive engineering excellence: Set a high standard for software quality by implementing advanced testing strategies, driving code reviews, and advocating best practices in development. Mentorship: Support the growth of junior and mid-level engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing. Innovation and continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to adopt new tools, frameworks, and practices to improve efficiency and future-proof our solutions. Service reliability and observability: Take ownership of building and maintaining robust, observable systems with strong SLAs to ensure high availability and performance. Cross-team collaboration: Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders and peers, ensuring effective communication and alignment across technical and non-technical teams. Architectural input: Contribute to system design and architecture decisions, ensuring alignment with our long-term technical strategy and scalability goals. About You Python (Django) and React expertise: Extensive experience in Python and Django, with a strong understanding of designing and building APIs in Django and using React to build UI components. Database design and optimization: Proficiency in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, with a strong ability to optimize queries and manage complex schemas. Familiarity with NoSQL databases is advantageous. System architecture: Demonstrated ability to design and evolve systems, ensuring resilience, scalability, and alignment with architectural best practices. Cloud proficiency: In-depth experience with AWS, including advanced use of services such as S3, SNS/SQS. Knowledge of deploying into k8s is a bonus. Problem-solving and critical thinking: A track record of solving complex technical challenges Technical leadership: Experience mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of collaboration and quality. Independent and proactive: Able to work autonomously in a distributed environment, driving initiatives and ensuring timely delivery without close supervision.
