Offer description

We are an organisation that exists to drive progress. That's the “red thread” that connects everyone at The Economist Group (TEG). Our businesses share a devotion to innovation, independence and rigour in their fields of expertise. We empower people to understand and tackle the critical challenges and changes facing the world. Our analytical rigour, global expertise and evidence-based insights enable individuals and organisations to make sense of these shifts and chart a course through them.

We deliver analysis and insights in many formats to subscribers and clients in 170 countries through our four businesses, The Economist, Economist Impact, Economist Intelligence and Economist Education, which uphold our global reputation for excellence and integrity.

The role:

The Reporting Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the reliability of our people data by identifying, investigating and resolving issues related to missing, inconsistent or inaccurate information across People systems.

They will own the identification and resolution of data quality issues - driving audits, surfacing risks, tracking actions and ensuring fixes are implemented and validated. This foundational work ensures that dashboards, surveys and regulatory reports are based on accurate and trusted data.

The role offers exposure to company-wide people data and processes and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including the BI Analyst, People Tech, People Ops, HRBPs and Centres of Expertise. It also provides opportunities to improve data governance in a growing, data-driven function.

As we continue to become more insight-led, this role addresses a critical gap in the accuracy and consistency of our people data, enabling better decision-making, reducing manual work and building confidence in our reporting and analytics.

* Support the development and maintenance of our People data dictionary, including key metrics definitions, ownership, calculation logic and validation rules
* Prepare and validate clean, structured datasets for internal reporting needs, surveys, and external metrics benchmarking exercises
* Respond to ad hoc data requests across the People team, taking time to understand the context and purpose of the request and ensuring outputs are accurate, clear and tailored to the question being asked, while maintaining data protection best practices

Who you are:

* Experience in a reporting, data management or operations-focused role, within a People/HR team
* Strong working knowledge of people data
* Experience working in a global or matrixed team structure
* High proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with comfort cleaning and manipulating datasets
* Experience working with HRIS tools (e.g. HiBob or equivalent)
* Attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
* Familiarity with Tableau or an interest in understanding how datasets feed into dashboards
* Exposure to survey tools or compliance reporting processes
* Experience with data governance practices or audit protocols
