We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Bus Engineering Technician to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Taff's Well. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including hybrid and electric vehicles, supported by ongoing training as technology and vehicle systems continue to evolve.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards
2. Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment including laptop
3. Completing the full range of mechanical repairs including major unit changes and engine repairs and overhauls,
4. Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and roadside repairs
5. Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience
6. Working safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team
What we’re looking for:
7. NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance, or equivalent
8. Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles
9. Experience and competence in using modern diagnostic equipment
10. Electrical/electronic competence at a basic level
11. A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail
12. A team player with good communication skills
13. Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable)
