The Role We’re looking for a talented and passionate Industrial Designer with an exceptional eye for detail to join our NPD team. This is an exciting opportunity to create visually striking, market-disrupting products that solve everyday consumer problems. Working across multiple product categories you will be the creative bridge between our buying team and our manufacturing partners. Your mission is to take high potential, off-the-shelf products and inject them with the unmistakable TentBox look, feel and user experience. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role within an expanding side of the business. You’ll be applying your expert design eye to visually resolve both new and off the shelf development. We need a delivery-focused designer who can switch gears between a "light touch" (aesthetic alignment) and a "heavy touch" (redesign) across a diverse and fast-moving product roadmap. Key Responsibilities Brand Integration: Deliver our Design Language, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic, material palette, and user experience across a diverse range of products. Rapid Refinement: Support the buying team by evaluating factory samples and identifying the key modifications needed to elevate them to TentBox standards. Strategic Execution: Balance design ambition with commercial reality. You’ll manage the level of design modifications of projects to meet deadlines without compromising on the brand's premium feel. Design Communication: Create high-quality visualisations, CMF (Color, Material, Finish) specifications, and tech packs to clearly communicate required changes to Far East partners. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the buying and engineering teams to ensure that TentBox products are not only beautiful but durable, functional, and commercially viable. Quality & User Experience Guardianship: Oversee every touchpoint, from hardware feel to intuitive assembly, ensuring it is easy to use and feels high quality Prototype Development & Testing: Ability to design, build, and test mechanical prototypes in controlled environments. The Ideal Candidate A Sharp Design Eye: A portfolio that demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of form, branding, and detail. You know how to make a product look and feel in-line with a brand's aesthetic. Agility & Pace: Experience working in a fast-turnaround environment. Ability to use a range of tools to quickly and effectively communicate idea intent. You are delivery-focused and thrive on seeing products move from concept to shelf quickly. Technical Versatility: A degree in Industrial Design or Product Design, with a solid grasp of how to adapt designs for various manufacturing processes. Software Fluency: High proficiency in 2D and 3D tools (SolidWorks/Rhino, Keyshot, and Adobe Creative Suite) to visualise and communicate design intent. Commercial Maturity: An understanding of how design decisions impact unit cost and lead times. You can defend your design choices while remaining pragmatic. Communication: The ability to influence internal stakeholders and external factories, making sure the TentBox look and feel remains a priority in all products.
