Job Opportunity: Procurement Buyer
Rullion is seeking a Procurement Buyer for a leading energy client. The position is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, with an ASAP start, a 12-month contract, inside IR35, paying a daily rate (apply online only). The role offers hybrid working with some monthly travel to Scotland.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
1. Act as a procurement partner on EPC High Voltage Substation projects with purchase volumes of £2-3M per project.
2. Ensure procurement processes are understood and effectively implemented during bid and execution phases to meet project goals, including timely procurement activities, staying within budget, maintaining quality, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
3. Prepare, execute, and manage requests for quotations, including negotiating pricing and commercial terms.
4. Define sourcing and supplier strategies for assigned commodities within the SUB&FACTS procurement setup, ensuring commodity dossiers are updated annually and aligned with HQ experts.
5. Complete supplier evaluations by deadlines, develop both short-term and long-term strategies, and proactively manage supplier risks to avoid non-conformance costs.
6. Ensure sufficient contract coverage, considering scope, value, and risk, with key commercial terms negotiated prior to contract awards.
7. Assist in completing function and project tasks on time and to high quality standards.
8. Promote a high-performance culture by participating in and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Maintain high standards across procurement functions by adhering to processes and using approved tools.
10. Raise purchase orders within SAP following company guidelines.
