The Group Business Development Director holds a senior leadership position with direct influence on the direction, shape and pace of future growth. This role provides the opportunity to lead the Group’s commercial strategy, strengthen market position and drive development activity across multiple sectors. It requires a leader who can operate confidently at executive level, build strong relationships with founders and partners and translate Group ambition into structured, coherent commercial plans. Job Opportunity The Group Business Development Director is responsible for defining and leading the commercial, growth and marketing strategy for RCI Group. This role works across the entire portfolio, providing strategic direction, shaping commercial frameworks and ensuring that the Group is well positioned for sustainable expansion. The post holder will collaborate with senior leaders, business founders and external partners to identify opportunities, guide decision making and maintain the coherence and quality of all Group level commercial activity. Key responsibilities include • Leading the development and implementation of the Group’s commercial and marketing strategy across a diverse national portfolio • Providing strategic insight, analysis and direction that supports informed decision making at senior and board level • Strengthening the Group’s market presence and positioning by identifying emerging opportunities and shaping proposals that reflect Group values and ambitions • Working closely with the leadership teams of acquired businesses to align growth plans and ensure consistency across the Group • Overseeing the development of high quality commercial materials including proposals, tenders, presentations and strategic documents • Ensuring that commercial processes, systems and reporting mechanisms are efficient, accurate and aligned to Group priorities • Acting as a key representative of the Group in external engagement with commissioners, partners and stakeholders • Supporting the integration of new acquisitions and ensuring commercial alignment as the Group continues to expand Essential Skills • Substantial experience in senior commercial or business development leadership • Proven ability to define and deliver commercial strategy across complex or multi sector environments • Strong analytical capability with the confidence to interpret market intelligence and guide strategic choices • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including business founders, board members, commissioners and external partners • Ability to lead high quality commercial output including proposals, strategic documents and presentations • Strong organisational and governance skills with the ability to oversee systems, reporting and performance structures • Ability to work across a diverse portfolio that includes clinical services, community care, digital solutions and data driven organisations • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at executive level • Experience contributing to organisational growth through acquisition or large scale development activity • Commitment to the values of Respect, Courage and Impact and confidence representing these values in all areas of work DEI Statement RCI Group is committed to creating a workplace where every person is treated with fairness, respect and dignity.
