Job Description & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and compile detailed borehole logs and geotechnical/factual reports from field investigation data, including SPT, CPT, and rock core logging.
• Review the field borelog and prepare the laboratory schedule in accordance with the project specifications.
• Review and interpret field and laboratory test results for accurate soil and rock classification in accordance with Singapore geological standards.
• Ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy of data in collaboration with field geologists, and lab technicians.
• Produce AutoCAD drawings (e.g., location plans and borehole sections) and use Geosmart software for report generation.
• Understand, incorporate, and interpret results from in-situ tests such as the Vane Shear Test (VST), Pressure meter Test (PMT), in the reports.
• Ensure timely submission of reports and communicate with clients or consultants for clarifications or revisions as needed.
• Organize and manage project documentation while maintaining quality control standards across all reporting activities.
• Stay up to date with industry practices and regulations related to geotechnical engineering in Singapore.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple reporting deadlines.
Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• Must have a good knowledge of Singapore geology (Singapore Geology, 1stEdition 1976, 2nd Edition 2009, BCA 2021)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Geosmart bore log/reporting software.
• Excellent written English skills with the ability to produce professional technical reports.
• Must be able to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
