Head of Service, Integrated Care
NHS North East London is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Service, Integrated Care to lead a portfolio of clinical services within Barking & Dagenham Children’s Services.
The post holder will be responsible for effective operational and clinical delivery, performance management against key indicators and financial targets, and the continuous professional development and performance of all staff within their portfolio.
The role will work with senior management and clinical leadership to deliver the Trust’s vision, focusing on best care for babies, children, and young people in the borough, and will lead on the delivery of the SEND agenda and the BCYP Neighbourhood model.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver effective operational and clinical leadership to service leads and multidisciplinary teams
* Support and develop the strategic direction for the service, in line with national policies and local health needs
* Support and influence development of new patient pathways in response to commissioners’ requirements
* Oversee patient pathways/flows into and out of Community Services
* Manage processes and systems across the service to support effective running and patient pathways
* Ensure harmonisation of quality care delivery across service areas
* Lead the Learning and Development plan for services and ensure developmental requirements are in place for all staff in line with the knowledge and skills framework
* Ensure services are cost‑effective and delivered within budget
* Lead change management in the implementation of service development
* Create a culture in which innovative ideas can flourish and provide vision and inspiration to enable staff to deliver support effectively
* Identify and participate in tendering for new business opportunities
* Ensure effective performance management and professional and clinical leadership of the workforce
* Deliver robust financial management in line with Directorate and Trust targets, including Cost Improvement Programmes
* Ensure services meet care quality and performance management standards and are compliant with all regulatory requirements and standards
* Represent the Service and Trust at external meetings with stakeholders
* Embed the safeguarding agenda firmly
Benefits
High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London: 15% of the basic salary (minimum £4,714, maximum £5,941 per annum, pro rata).
Probationary period applies.
This position is subject to payment of a High Cost Area Supplement and is subject to a probationary period.
