Are you an experienced CNC Lathe Operator ready to take on challenging, high-precision work in a modern engineering environment? We're looking for a highly capable machinist to join a respected team in Sheffield, working on large-scale, complex components across a range of demanding materials.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in precision machining and takes pride in producing quality work to the highest standards.
To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:
Proven experience in Fanuc-controlled CNC lathe operation
Background in machining both small and large complex parts
Ability to work to extremely tight tolerances and finish quality
Programming experience on Fanuc (desirable but not essential)
Confidence working from technical drawings with minimal supervision
Strong understanding of safety, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced machining environment
A proactive, solution-focused mindset with a passion for engineering excellence
Within this position, you’ll also be:
Set and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls to produce high-spec components
Work to tight tolerances of ±0.5mm on parts ranging from short production runs to longer, complex projects
Machine large components up to 1,200mm diameter and 6m in length
Read and interpret complex technical and engineering drawings
Use micrometres, verniers, and other precision measuring tools to inspect and verify work
Maintain workshop standards and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and engineering processes
Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams to troubleshoot and optimise machining processes
