We are looking to fill an exciting opportunity to join the Leonardo UK Strategy and Technology team as a Strategic Initiatives Manager. In this exciting opportunity, you will work for and with the Leonardo UK Capability and Innovation Director, their team and other members of the Leonardo UK Management Team to deliver our strategic objectives. The role has a broad scope, which makes it varied and fast paced, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to participate in a wide array of activities, significantly contributing Leonardo in the UK, across all sites and divisions.
The role is based in the wider London area with regular UK travel.
What you will do
1. Build and utilise a trusted network across the entire company reaching all levels of seniority, including employees seconded externally to collate and analyse strategic capability development related information.
2. Facilitate meetings chaired by the Director, acting as the point person to ensure the agendas contain all of the appropriate and timely items for discussion, and actions are recorded and completed.
3. Prepare all briefs for engagements, comprising of all appropriate information, extracting the headline items for immediate attention.
4. Produce and / or collate all presentations (including speeches) to be delivered by the Director, ensuring tailoring to specific audiences.
5. Support the communications team with speech writing to ensure the content addresses the correct buttons for the audience and that it suits the delivery style of the Director.
6. Review all requests into the Directors office and provide a summary and recommendation to allow for efficiency in response.
7. Manage and amplify communication flow both into and out of the Directors office, including as to how communication has been received across the business.
8. Keep track of all actions set on and by the Director to and from the business, ensuring they are all delivered on time and to the level of standard expected.
9. Provide on the ground support for all Exhibitions and Conferences attended by the Director.
10. Maintain an awareness of business activity across the entire company.
11. Maintain an awareness of activity across the global defence industry and political environment.
12. Ability to deliver small projects or work packages independently, demonstrating a capability to understand and summarise technical content collated from across the business.

21. Recent experience working with MOD & UK Government stakeholders on Capability Development
22. Be able to support the directors working patterns.
23. Able to maintain DV clearance
