Jackson Hogg is working with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Manufacturing Team Leader for their Electrical Production site based in Melsonby.
This role is ideal for a strong hands-on operator who enjoys leading by example on the shop floor. You’ll spend the majority of your time actively involved in production, while also supporting, guiding and coordinating a small team of assembly operators to ensure daily targets are met safely and efficiently.
The Role
As a Manufacturing Team Leader, you will work closely with the Production Manager to support daily operations. Approximately 60% of the role will be hands-on production, with the remaining 40% focused on coordinating people, quality and workflow.
You’ll act as the go-to person on shift, helping to keep production running smoothly while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying out hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and production work
* Leading and supporting a team of assembly operators on a day-to-day basis
* Coordinating daily tasks in line with production plans
* Overseeing Traffic Controller production, testing and basic quality checks
* Supporting safety and quality standards across the team
* Assisting with problem-solving and production issues as they arise
* Promoting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
* Supporting training, development and motivation of team members
* Acting as a communication link between operators and management
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in an electro-mechanical production or assembly environment
* Experience acting as a Lead Operator, Senior Operator or informal team lead
* Strong practical problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
* Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or continuous improvement principles
* Comfortable planning tasks and following documented processes
* Basic IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
* A hands-on, lead-from-the-front approach
