Recruitment Consultant at Vertical Recruitment
We’re currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager on a contract basis to manage the mechanical installation on projects across Newcastle and the surrounding area. This is a site-based role suited to someone who’s confident running mechanical packages and keeping things moving without being micromanaged.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day management of mechanical works on site (HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, risers)
* Supervise mechanical subcontractors and direct labour
* Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to spec
* Manage RAMS, permits, and site inductions
* Coordinate with other trades and site management to avoid clashes
* Attend and contribute to site meetings
* Carry out quality checks and snagging
* Report progress, issues, and variations to the Project Manager
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager or Mechanical Supervisor on commercial / industrial projects
* Strong knowledge of mechanical building services
* SMSTS or SSSTS (SMSTS preferred)
* CSCS (Gold or Black)
* Good understanding of H&S and site procedures
* Able to hit the ground running and manage works independently
