An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our School Nursing Team located in Telford,
Job Responsibilities
* To assist in the provision of the school nursing service for school‑aged children and their families/carers in accordance with agreed standards and policies that promote equality and ensure no child or family is discriminated against due to age, gender, race, culture, religion, language, disability, or sexual orientation.
* To assist and support the School Children's Health and Well‑being Network (SCPHN) in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme within the School Nursing speciality by delivering a range of school nursing activities to improve health, reduce inequalities and safeguard children.
* To manage a delegated workload without direct supervision while acknowledging professional limitations in knowledge and competence.
* To give support and advice on a whole range of issues that support the health of children/young people, e.g. immunisation, nutrition, lifestyle, emotional and behavioural issues, while promoting local and national public health messages.
* To assist the SCPHN in managing a defined caseload of school‑aged children, promoting health, preventing ill health, identifying health needs, and recognising unmet health needs by using evidence‑based practice.
* To support and promote health to improve outcomes for children and young people within the local health economy.
* To undertake any other duties of a similar nature consistent with the responsibilities of this post to provide a quality service.
* To support children and young people with aspects of emotional and physical health to improve their health outcomes.
