Permanent vacancy - Multi Skilled Engineer (electrical bias)
Salary - £43,381.60 (£21.9541 per hour)
Shift - 4 on 4 off continental shift pattern (For example 4 days then of 4 days then on 4 nightshifts etc)
Hours - 38 hours (42 in total including breaks)
Holidays - 30 days
Pension - Matched up to 6%
OT - Hourly rate x 1.5/ 2

One of our clients based in East Dunbartonshire are looking for 2 x Multi Skilled Engineers (Electrical bias) to join their team.
About the role
Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment by performing proactive and reactive maintenance tasks, with a strong focus on electrical systems. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and the rapid resolution of equipment faults, all while upholding high standards of health, safety, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Adhere to all Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) procedures and ensure work complies with site policies and work instructions.
Execute both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
Rapidly diagnose and repair equipment faults, particularly electrical issues, minimising downtime and ensuring safe reinstatement of service.
Install, commission, and modify equipment and systems as required.
Apply Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to enhance equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.
Support the delivery of the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and contribute to its ongoing improvement.
Maintain effective communication across all shifts, completing accurate maintenance logs, shift handovers, and relevant reports.
Undertake a range of electrical tasks, including but not limited to:
Sensor replacement and calibration
Low voltage repairs (plugs, fuses, lights, bulbs)
Breaker resets and fault tracing
Camera system adjustments (e.g. Barco, vision systems) o Disconnecting/reconnecting plug-in motors with local isolation
* Support mechanical maintenance activities as required, contributing to a flexible and collaborative maintenance team.
* Contribute to improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and site initiatives as required
Support and oversee contractors or vendors during maintenance, shutdowns, or installations, ensuring safe and compliant work
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with site standards, audits, and regulatory requirements
Essential skills
Time-served engineer with a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
Strong experience in fault finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis, particularly with electrical systems
Working knowledge of Health & Safety practices in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (electrical and mechanical
Confident working across both electrical and mechanical disciplines
Competent in using Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. CMMS) and basic IT tools (e.g. MS Office).
Experience with control systems, sensors, or automated machinery is advantageous
Desirable
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
