About this role
Due to new project wins and continued growth, we’re looking for Senior Nuclear HVAC Engineers to join our Power, Process & Nuclear division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects in the defence and nuclear new-build industries. Responsibilities:
1. Produce detailed design calculations to support design requirements.
2. Produce documentation, assessment/condition reports, survey reports, basis of designs, procurement specifications, etc.
3. Review and produce detailed design calculations to support proposals.
4. Create and review detailed design drawings, layouts, and schematics including heating, ventilation, LTHW, chilled water, specialist LEV, and BMS installations.
5. Experience in delivering written work such as functional specifications, basis of design, equipment specifications, and validation and verification plans.
6. Estimate work elements including equipment and man-hour costs.
About you
* Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
* Chartered status with IMechE or another relevant professional body.
* Experience in highly regulated environments (preferably Nuclear, but Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Rail experience considered).
* Knowledge & experience in nuclear containment ventilation design is preferred.
* Broad knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and engineering principles, including nuclear ventilation guidelines and standards.
* Experience with design software such as Hevacomp, IES, Pipenet.
* Revit and AutoCAD knowledge and experience are beneficial.
* Initiative and self-motivation to make decisions.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* In-depth knowledge of current Building Regulations and relevant Legislation.
* Experience in preparing bids and estimates.
* Ensure compliance with construction (design and management) regulations.
* Mentoring and guiding junior staff.
