GSL Education are seeking a caring and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated SEN School in St Leonards. This role is ideal for those with prior experience supporting children with special educational needs and a passion for making a genuine difference in their educational journey.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Helping students with different special needs like autism, ADHD, and emotional or mental health difficulties.
Working with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support for each student.
Encouraging students to be more independent and behave well during the school day.
Supporting pupils in class so they can join in and understand lessons better.
Building trusting and friendly relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Helping students manage their feelings and develop good social skills.
Skills & Requirements for SEN TA:
Previous experience supporting children with special needs in schools or care settings.
Able to stay calm, patient, and positive even when things get tough.
A good understanding of how to keep children safe and support their learning needs.
Must have (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
An up-to-date CV showing the last 10 years, with any breaks explained.
