Who We Are: Forgiving
we don’t just provide services; we build bridges. We exist to support some of the hardest to reach individuals across the community.
* Our Youth Provision: We meet young people exactly where they are. Our impact spans the entire journey—from preventative initiatives in schools to high-impact bootcamps and critical interventions within the custody system. We provide the Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) and the fierce advocacy needed to break cycles and unlock potential.
* The Intergenerational Bridge: We are closing the gap between our youth and the Windrush elders. By fostering understanding and shared purpose, we ensure that the wisdom of our elders and the energy of our youth are working in tandem.
* The Windrush Initiatives: This is our immigration advocacy arm. We don’t just "help with forms." We fight for the status and compensation rightfully owed to all those impacted by the Windrush injustice—including descendants and family members who may not yet realize they are eligible for support. From our hands‑on Jamaican passport support surgeries to deep‑dive claims advocacy, we are the frontline defense against systemic injustice.
The Role: Windrush Advocate (West Midlands & North West)
We need advocates who are part-detective, part-confidant, and part-powerhouse. You won’t just be "processing" people; you will be identifying those who feel silenced and helping them to find their voice.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Seeking Justice: Identifying individuals impacted by the Windrush injustice who may be hesitant to seek professional help due to trauma or lack of trust.
* Building the Narrative: Supporting claimants to gather documentation and translating their life experiences into compelling, undeniable claim forms.
* Community Presence: Leading outreach and running drop‑in surgeries that make our support accessible to all.
End-to-End System Navigation:
You will manage the entire claims lifecycle. This includes meticulously preparing the evidence, submitting the claim, and leading the warm handover process with the Home Office. You will act as the lead point of contact.
Who You Are:
You’re someone who can navigate a Home Office boardroom and a community centre with equal confidence. You likely have lived experience, but above all, you have a genuine fire for justice and the administrative discipline to see a claim through to the end.
