We are recruiting for an Automation Maintenance Technician at the Jubilee Mail Centre, Hounslow, TW4 5XX.
Salary: £53,195 per annum, plus night shift allowance. You will receive 22.5 days annual leave with bank holidays, a defined contribution pension scheme, and a weekend supplement of £53.14 per Saturday and £106.28 per Sunday shift attendance.
Shift attendance is 40 hours per week. The role covers early (06:30‑14:55), late (14:00‑22:30), and night (21:00‑07:35) shifts over a 5‑week pattern. Weekend work also forms part of the rota.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the availability and performance of automation assets through effective maintenance procedures.
* Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
* Conduct continuous improvement activities and support the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches.
* Complete end‑of‑shift reports, fault logging, and data entry.
* Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritise corrective actions to meet operational processing requirements.
* Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs.
* Own continuous improvement projects from conception to implementation for machinery in the Hub/Mail Centre.
* Work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
Qualifications
* Minimum qualification of ONC Electrical Engineering, NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent – in electrical and mechanical engineering.
* Experience maintaining automation equipment, with a flexible approach and strong communication skills.
* Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
* Full UK driving licence.
