Offer description

Reeson Education are recruiting for a committed and resilient SEMH Outreach Teacher to work with a specialist provision based in West Drayton. This is a unique and highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEMH Outreach Teacher to support students who are transitioning from mainstream school following exclusion and awaiting placement within a PRU or specialist setting.

The provision in West Drayton is seeking a confident and adaptable SEMH Outreach Teacher who can deliver short-term, structured education in the community, at home, or within agreed safe learning environments. This role is vital in ensuring students remain engaged in education and supported during the interim period, while also enabling the school to meet statutory education obligations without immediate on-site placement.

Key responsibilities:

1. Deliver tailored educational support as an SEMH Outreach Teacher

2. Provide interim teaching for students awaiting PRU placement

3. Work with students at home or in agreed community settings

4. Support engagement, routine, and emotional regulation

5. Deliver core subject learning and functional skills

6. Build positive relationships with students and families

7. Liaise with schools, PRU staff, and local authority teams

8. Maintain accurate records of attendance, engagement, and progress

The setting in West Drayton supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs who benefit from consistent outreach support before entering full-time alternative provision. As an SEMH Outreach Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining educational continuity, reducing risk of disengagement, and supporting successful transitions.

Requirements:

9. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or strong teaching/tutoring background

10. Experience working as an SEMH Outreach Teacher, PRU teacher, or alternative provision teacher

11. Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

12. Ability to work independently and manage outreach schedules

13. Calm, patient, and resilient approach

14. Full UK driving licence desirable

This SEMH Outreach Teacher role in West Drayton offers the chance to make a genuine impact by supporting vulnerable young people at a critical point in their education journey.
