Location: County Hall, Taunton (hybrid – some remote work)
Employment type: Full-time, 37 hours per week, 9‑month fixed term contract with option to extend.
Salary: £32,597 – £36,363 per annum.

About the role
This role supports key projects and programmes within the Partnerships, Localities & Culture directorate, mainly focusing on the Local Devolution Programme and the Community Engagement Review. Your work will help bring about positive change for our communities in Somerset.
What you'll be doing
* Support all aspects of project and change delivery for a variety of projects and programmes, collaborating with colleagues across the council and partner organisations.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders and prepare project and programme communications.
* Maintain accurate project documentation and assist with data collection, reporting and monitoring of project progress.
* Support the management of risks and issues, including implementation of mitigation actions.
Qualifications and experience
* Experience of supporting projects and programmes, ideally within a public sector environment.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholder management experience.
* Initiative to solve problems and ability to use initiative.
* Understanding of when to escalade risks and issues and seek support from colleagues.
* Strong IT skills and confidence using digital platforms (such as SharePoint).
* Proactive approach to learning and development, with a willingness to build knowledge.
* Certification in project management methodologies (Agile, PRINCE2, PMP) and/or change management (Prosci, APMG) is desirable.
