Locum Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist – Brent CAMHS Enhanced Treatment Team (ETT). Fixed term 6 to 12 months, part time 5 PAs.
We are looking for a child and adolescent psychiatrist with a special interest in complexity and trauma, enthusiastic about working with a supportive, dynamic team and mentors. Opportunities to teach and train, strong links with Imperial College London to develop research interests.
Relocation package up to £8,000 (subject to eligibility), generous annual leave, study leave, NHS pension scheme and staff discounts.

Job Responsibilities
Clinical Work: Work with MDT colleagues to develop the Enhanced Treatment sub‑team, provide consultations, collaborate with local authority and education professionals, assess and manage children, young people and families. Offer a generic service for non‑urgent presentations and provide a service for acutely mentally ill children in crisis, including comprehensive assessment and evidence‑based interventions. Manage about 15‑20 new assessments per year, 10‑12 face‑to‑face contacts per week, and maintain a caseload of 30‑40 complex cases.
Leadership & Management: Participate in developing new service models, contribute to senior management group and clinical protocols, and support the CAMHS‑ED service line.
Teaching & Supervision: Train and supervise junior doctors, medical students, and other multidisciplinary team members; support CT1‑3, SpRs, local GPs, social workers and health visitors.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Primary Medical Degree
* Full GMC Registration with licence to practice
* Section 12 MHA Approved
Desirable
* Post‑graduate qualification relevant to children and adolescents
* Specialist Register for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or CCT expected within 6 months
* Approved Clinician status within 3 months
Experience, Skills and Abilities
* Competence in psychopharmacology and non‑medication therapeutic approaches
* Experience assessing and managing complex mental health needs and high‑risk cases
* Knowledge of clinical governance and care quality
* Ability to participate in medical audit and quality assurance
* Experience teaching and supervising junior staff and other disciplines
