Express Recruitment are currently working with a leading education institution who are based in the Midlands. Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineering specialist to support apprenticeship students develop an understanding of Health and Safety for a range of equipment, inclusive of new CNC machines and lathes. The successful candidate will be working alongside the Nuclear Engineering Technical specialist, supporting a newly established, state of the art Engineering Academy.

Maintain all equipment and workshop spaces, always adhering to all Health and Safety regulations
Ensure Health and Safety Risk Assessments are completed efficiently for new students starting their courses
Offer guidance to apprenticeship students, focused on Engineering equipment (operating of CNC machines for milling/turning)
Develop training plans and activities to deliver to students, considering individual learning style
Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar subject
Demonstratable practical experience on workshop machinery, including welding
Ability to work with young adults from all backgrounds
Risk and COSHH assessment training essential
