Yard Supervisor Location: Sittingbourne Hours: Monday to Friday 6am -2pm Pay rate : £32,000 per year Purpose We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Yard Supervisor to oversee and manage all vehicle movements within our food manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring site security, safety, and smooth operations. The Gatekeeper will control access to the premises, act as a bankman for reversing vehicles, and support general yard duties as required. What youll be doing Vehicle Control
Monitor and authorise entry and exit of all vehicles to and from the facility. Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements. Ensure compliance with site security and safety protocols. General Yard Duties
Act as a banksman for all reversing vehicles directed to the goods-in area. Provide clear and safe guidance to drivers to prevent accidents and damage. Liaise with drivers and warehouse staff to coordinate efficient vehicle flow. Assist with waste management, including segregation and disposal in line with company policies. Carry out yard cleaning and upkeep to maintain a safe and organized environment. Support ad-hoc operational tasks as directed by your line manager or Site Manager. Support in assisting the unloading of lorries when possible Working Conditions Based at the facility gatehouse and yard areas. Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. PPE provided and must be worn at all times. Good to have Strong awareness of health & safety regulations in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. Ability to remain alert, assertive, and professional when managing site access. Experience as a banksman/yard operative is highly desirable. Good communication skills to interact with drivers, contractors, and internal teams. Flexibility to take on varied yard duties when required.
