Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pathway Navigator for patients on Hepatology Cancer Surveillance (HCC). This is a key hybrid role, combining administrative responsibilities with patient-facing activity.
Responsibilities
Run outpatient Fibro‑scan clinics across the three hospital sites.
Provide direct support to patients to maintain engagement in surveillance pathways, ensuring they receive their surveillance scans on schedule and working closely with the Hepatology CNS and the wider Gastroenterology team.
Maintain effective communication with patients, signpost to resources and information as defined by patient need, and liaise with staff and services to schedule tests and appointments.
Maintain and populate tracking lists for Liver Health Check clinics and track patients for HCC surveillance; requires excellent IT and data entry skills.
Explanation of results to patients is not expected of this role.
Training and Certification
Formal training and industry delivery certification will be provided for the successful candidate.
Location
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal, as well as community premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
