We are looking for a confident, passionate and talented Assistant Planner / Planner to work on stretching and prestigious projects as part of our established and growing team in the East and South East of England.
About the role
You will be supported to progress your career within a vibrant and progressive consultancy. The role is based in Reading, Cambridge or Southampton, and you will work across varied projects, including major residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes. We have an outstanding reputation for providing the highest standards of service to high profile clients, including major land owners, respected property developers, multi-sector housebuilders and commercial and industrial developers. We are passionate about the places we help to shape.
In this role you will:
* Support and work towards leading on a range of local projects and proactively assist with the delivery on more major projects.
* Have defined responsibility and client contact, from the start.
* Provide succinct and commercial advice to clients.
* Have the opportunity to work on projects across the East and South East.
* Be supported to develop your technical skills and grow your presence in our local markets.
* Be part of a dynamic, supportive and well established Planning team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have/be:
* An enquiring mind, strong communication skills and commercial awareness
* Highly motivated, ambitious and dedicated to your professional development
* A confident and positive team player who enjoys collaborating with others and sharing new ideas
* Able to manage own time and workload with supervision of your line manager
* Good knowledge of the English planning system
* A strong academic record and hold a planning degree (ideally RTPI accredited)
* Committed to becoming MRTPI or be MRTPI qualified
