Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their In-House Legal Team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's global business and corporate services partners.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters, and support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
* Assist in managing compliance with laws and regulations in applicable jurisdictions and network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice.
* Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Provide practical, risk-aware legal advice aligned with business objectives.
* Make presentations and publish articles on relevant legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or in-house.
* Proven expertise in leading complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strong risk management, strategic thinking, and issue-spotting skills.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, reviewing agreements, and advising across jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex cases, collaborating with teams.
* Capable of balancing legal risk with business growth in a fast-paced, global environment.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and excellent in communication and organization.
