The Role
As Accounts Assistant, you will become an essential part of our team, supporting the financial operations and ensuring the smooth handling of accounts-related tasks. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and liaising with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
* Matching, checking, and coding invoices.
* Processing monthly and weekly supplier and subcontractor payment runs.
* Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details.
* Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
* Reconciling credit card statements.
* Filing invoices and maintaining accurate financial records.
* Verifying change of bank details via phone and paperwork for suppliers.
* Maintaining the asset register for all IT and mobile equipment provided to staff.
* Dealing with utilities and general office maintenance tasks.
* Acting as the first point of contact for phone calls and general business enquiries.
* Covering other accounts staff during annual leave, including processing weekly payroll and assisting with purchase orders.
* Performing other ad-hoc duties as required.
Who We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in accounts administration or a similar role.
* Familiarity with accounting software and tools (e.g., Sage).
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
* Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
