This position is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and proven experience managing engineering teams within a manufacturing environment. You'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the Production Design Engineering team, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the delivery of high-quality products to market. The Role Reporting to the Operations Director, the Engineering Manager will lead a team of design engineers, manage key projects from concept through to installation, and support cross-functional teams across operations, sales, and technical support. You will also contribute to long-term strategy while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and health & safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Design Engineering team to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality designs. Oversee the full product development lifecycle, from initial concept to production and installation. Approve technical drawings and ensure compliance with all relevant industry and safety standards. Work closely with other departments to support product development, customer requirements, and operational goals. Drive improvements in design processes, quality control, and customer satisfaction. Represent the company at site visits, technical meetings, and relevant trade events. Contribute to strategic planning, new product innovation, and protection of intellectual property. Monitor team performance and support development through regular feedback and reviews. Requirements 10 years design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, or 6 years with a degree in Engineering. Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and develop engineering teams. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, design standards, and product development. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD. Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. A flexible, hands-on approach and a passion for continuous improvement. Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required. Chartered Engineer status (CEng) and/or a leadership qualification would be desirable but not essential. Why Apply?
