What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Finance Trustee to join our board and strengthen our governance with financial expertise. The ideal candidate will have At least 3 years' experience in finance, accounting, business planning or a related field. Strong skills in budgeting, financial reporting and oversight. The ability to review financial information and explain it clearly to non-finance colleagues. An understanding of governance and the responsibilities of a company director (or willingness to learn). Commitment to Innovate Generation CIC's mission of supporting young people in the creative industries. Integrity, independence of thought, and willingness to contribute actively to board discussions and decisions. What will you be doing?
About us Innovate Generation CIC is a young community interest company supporting creative young people (aged 14–25) through fashion shows, workshops, artistic events and educational projects. Our aim is to provide practical opportunities for young people to develop skills, showcase their work, and gain visibility within the creative industries. The role We are looking for a Finance Trustee to join our board and strengthen our governance with financial oversight. This is a voluntary role and requires a commitment of around 4–6 hours per month, including one board meeting (online or in person) and occasional check-ins for decision-making. Your key responsibilities will include Providing financial oversight and guidance to the board. Supporting the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Helping ensure compliance with CIC and Companies House reporting requirements. Reviewing grant and project budgets and advising on financial sustainability. Contributing to collective decision-making as a director of the CIC. Person specification Minimum 3 years' experience in finance, accounting, business planning or related fields. Strong understanding of budgets, financial reports and good governance. Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues. Commitment to the mission of supporting young people in the creative industries. Willingness to participate actively in board discussions and decisions.
