Do you have the drive to make a real impact in the classroom?If so, GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and adaptable Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newcastle.
About the Role:
As a Primary TA, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. Your role will involve delivering targeted interventions, supporting classroom activities, and helping pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing in-class support across a range of subjects and year groups.
* Assisting in delivering structured literacy, numeracy, and phonics interventions.
* Working one-to-one or in small groups with pupils requiring additional help.
* Supporting children with additional needs, including SEND and EAL.
* Helping to create a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment.
* Supporting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
* Liaising with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents when required.
Job Requirements:
* Experience working in a UK primary school or relevant child support setting.
* A good understanding of the National Curriculum and age-appropriate strategies.
* Compassionate, patient, and proactive with a commitment to pupil welfare.
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
